Workshop Venue - Hotel Los TucanesWhere do we stay for the workshop in Villa Tunari ?Rooms have been booked - DO NOT make your own booking at this hotel. Distribution of rooms at Los Tucanes Villa Tunari is a small touristy town along the highway from Cochabamba to Sta Cruz, located at the foot of the mountains in tropical rainforest and surrounnded by large roaring rivers. The area is hilly but a few kilometers to the south-east starts the vast plains at the border of the Amazon basin. The area is a center of coca growing, but there are many other traditional Amazonian agricultural products and vendors arrive from the highlands with many Andean products that are offered for sale. The workshop will be held at Hotel Los Tucanes, located a few kilometers from the town center along the highway towards Sta Cruz. You cross two big rivers and just after the second river, on your left side you se the sign "Hotel Los Tucanes" - the hotel itself being hidden behind trees and lush tropical vegetation. Los Tucanes is organized as a campus with a few main buildings for reception, restaurant etc, and then it has a number of cottages with one-two rooms, each of which may hold 1-5 people. It is all spread out over a tropical garden with traditional tropical ornamentals, including a few of local Amazonian origin. You can see a few pictures of the hotel on this link to the hotel webpage. The hotel price is 200 Bs. (about 20€) per night for a single room and up to 600 Bs. for a room if it is occupied by 5 persons. How are the meals etc. organized? For those who stay at Los Tucanes a breakfast buffet is included in the price of the hotel room. Lunches and dinners have been ordered in the hotel's restaurant, and to make it more expedient we have asked the hotel to have a fixed menu for everybody so that we will avoid sitting for too long at the lunch table. The meals will be charged to your room and each participant is responsible for paying these meals together with their hotel bill. Who pays for the Hotel in Villa Tunari? Each participant will pay for his or her own bill at the hotel. So the cost of the stay will depend on whether you stay at Los Tucanes or not, and it will also depend on how you organize yourself and how many people share a room.
